Shotstand: App Store Screenshots Without the Subscription, Coming Soon
For iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Not an aviation tool; built by the same person as AvClock. Coming soon.
Every app on the App Store lives or dies by a row of screenshots most people look at for about a second. When I made AvClock's, I used a subscription web tool, and it did the job. But every time I shipped an update, made a new app, or wanted to try one more headline, I was back to the same choice: pay for another month, or live with what I had.
So I looked around. The screenshot makers I tried each had some version of the same catch: a monthly subscription, an account before you could start, your unreleased app's screens uploaded to someone's server, or a free version that saved small or watermarked images. If you're one person shipping a small app, that's a real cost for something you do a few times a year.
So I built the tool I wanted. It's called Shotstand, and it's coming soon to the App Store.
Full Function, Free
Shotstand is free to download, and the free version is the whole tool, not a demo:
- Real device frames for iPhone, iPad, and Mac, including a MacBook with its base.
- Eleven layouts: a phone rising out of the bottom, turned to the side, a pair, one device lying across two slides, a title card, and more.
- Headlines and detail lines in the fonts built into your device, with a word in color when you put stars around it. Long headlines shrink to fit.
- Sixteen background palettes, your own gradients, and one background that flows across the whole set.
- A clean 9:41 status bar, snapping to centers and slide edges, and a check before you save for text off the edge or screenshots that will look soft.
- Saving the full set at full size as JPEG or PNG. No watermark, no limit.
One Upgrade, $0.99, Once
Shotstand Premium is a single $0.99 purchase, not a subscription. It adds the things that save the most time once you're doing this regularly: saving every size Apple asks for in one tap, iOS 27's new App Store header and search images, iPhone Duo sizes, more than one language, templates, photo backgrounds, a wide image of the whole set, and Apple Watch frames and sizes. One purchase covers iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
Nothing Leaves Your Device
No account, no sign-in, no tracking, no ads. Shotstand works offline and makes no network requests, the same way AvClock keeps your saved airports and flights on your own device. Screenshots of an app that isn't out yet stay with you.
Not Yet's 45 App Store screenshots, across iPhone, iPad, and Mac, were made in Shotstand, and so were Shotstand's own. You can try the real drawing engine in your browser on the Shotstand page, and the App Store screenshot sizes guide lists exactly which sizes you need.
